Biography
Dr. D. E. Babu took his doctoral degree from Andhra University in the year 1979. He did his post-doctoral research work in Biologische Anstalt Helgoland, Meeresstation, Helgoland, Germany during the years 1986-’87 and Frederic Wilhelm’s Universität Bonn, Bonn, Germany in 1993-’94 under DAAD fellowship. Prof. D. E. Babu has more than 30 years of research and teaching experience, published more than 50 research papers in journals of repute, presently serving Andhra University in the capacity of Chairman, Faculty of Sciences. Prof. Babu is serving as a consultant in the UNDP-GEF-GOI-GOAP EGREE Project on “Mainstreaming Coastal and Marine Biodiversity into Production Sectors at East Godavari River Estuarine Ecosystem, Andhra Pradesh†in the field of Aquaculture.
Research Interest
Prof. Babu is instrumental in developing mud crab culture and hatchery technologies and extended consultancy to various Aquaculture industries and organizations in shrimp farming, crab farming, crab hatchery and soft shell crab farming. Currently,
