Biography
Lakshman Nayak holds a Ph.D. degree in Marine Sciences (Marine Biology). At present he is working as a professor in Department of Marine Sciences, Berhampur University. He has interest in fisheries and pollution studies. He has been teaching in marine biology, ichthyology and fishery biology, marine invertebrates, aquaculture, fisheries technology and marine ecology since 1983. He has guided 14 doctoral students, 32 M.Phil. students and one D.Sc. student. He has more than 70 publications in national and international peer reviewed journals to his credit. He has acted as a member of the Academic Council and Chairman Board of Studies of this University. He has participated in 12 international and 45 national conferences/seminars and presented papers. He has visited Singapore and Australia etc. for presenting research papers in international conferences and chair several technical sessions of national seminars. He has served as a reviewer of different journals and member of professional bodies like life member of the Zoological Society, member of the techno sciences publications etc. During 2015-2016, he has been appointed as the observer of the UGC NET and JEE main by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
